Accessing Corporate Applications Securely From Mobile Devices

The world we work in today is rapidly changing!

We have highly knowledgeable mobile workforces, that wish to work from anywhere around the world. They need access to crucial business information and applications and from many different types of devices.

Quote from the CEO of a major retail chain: "I carry both an iPhone and iPad, and have a requirement to access corporate information from these devices as well as my home PC and from random machines anywhere around the world.  I am my CTO's worst nightmare!"

In 2013 we will see another surge in demand for high power users to access application and information from their corporate networks from their own devices, whilst on the move, however shifting from an enterprise-owned mobile device fleet to having employees bring their own devices has a major impact on the way of thinking and acting about mobile security. When a company's data is allowed on employees own devices, the  risk of data leakage is immense, not just because of the rise of mobile malware, but also from legitimate but unsupported apps that may inadvertently create security risks for the company and more importantly because of device loss or theft.

AEP Networks is the first to deliver a highly secure solution for iPad/Android users to allow them to connect to and run their corporate applications.

AEP Networks SecureAccess for iPad/Android lets employees securely access applications hosted on any RDP server, including Microsoft Remote Desktop Servers (Terminal Servers). Run any windows based application (such as Microsoft Office or a custom built application) directly from your device, and also access office desktop on the device.

If a device is lost, stolen or transferred, with CMID (Client Machine ID) feature, an administrator can simply disable access to corporate systems from the device. Using CMID, access control can also be managed on a per device basis to provide differentiated services based on whether the device is known or unknown. Furthermore users can unambiguously identify themselves at login time using two-factor authentication.

AEP Networks SecureAccess works with existing directory server infrastructure such as Microsoft Active Directory, Novell's eDirectory, and other compliant LDAP servers, so administrators can fully leverage their existing user and group policy configurations.
